Having recently read Die with Zero by Bill Perkins I have been thinking about the concept of memory dividends. Whilst on the journey of financial independence it is easy to be caught up in delaying gratification as I build up the investment portfolio. Looking back at the years I can say I have built some memory dividends. Travel has been one of those experiences I have invested in:
- El Nido, Palawan Phillipines the crystal clear waters for snorkelling
- Flying over the Great Barrier Reef “heart reef” for my 30th birthday
- Getting lost in the streets of Venice with a map and gps in hand
- Having a home made mojito in Trinidad, Cuba
- Tinder Coffee date with the Colosseum in the background
- Hiking in Peruvian Andes
- Camping in the Bolivian Amazon (Rurrenabaque)
- Being scammed in Thailand
